Note to editors: I'm in and out since Real Life is keeping me busy.
Hmm, well if you're really interested in reading more about me...
In grade 7 I determined I was going to be a professional costumer. I now lean more towards historic costume research as a hobby. Much of my historic reproduction work was learned through Dalhousie University's Costume Studies Programme. In Fall/Winter 1997/98 I volunteered as an intern at the DAR Museum in Washington, DC, researching and preparing for the Summer '98 costume exhibition. Several years later I was named the costume coordinator for the DAR's National Junior Doll of 2003, based on pioneer missionary Narcissa Prentiss Whitman (1808-1847).
Dmoz is not the only place online I've volunteered. I took part in building a small corner of Chefmoz, ODP's sibling Dining Guide. I was also a book reviewer for The Romance Journal (now defunct) and in 2000 I enjoyed a brief stint with Reviewer's International Organization. To support my reading addiction, I worked at several bookstores over 6½ years. :o)
ODP/Dmoz promotions: on February 23, 2001 I was granted editall/catmv privileges. Meta privileges were granted to me on May 10, 2001.
ODP is a team effort, but we all appreciate being acknowledged as individuals. Thanks to those who voted for me in the various Editor Awards! Spring 2001 I was runner up in Recreation, and tied as runner up in Shopping. I was nominated in Winter 2001 for both Shopping and Best Meta. In Spring 2002 I was nominated for Most Helpful and Best Meta. November 2002 I was nominated for Best Ontologist, Best Mentor, and Best Meta; I've been a co-leader of the Business reorganization. September 2003 nominations included Most Evil Meta, Best Business Editor, and Most Embarrassing ODP Moment. I've continued my activity in helping Business regroup - it was up for the coveted titles of Most Improved Category and Best Reorganization. Spring 2004 I was nominated for Most Congenial, and "Editor I Most Want to Meet in Person".

Editors I've met live and in person: bcwine, choster, etoile, hotpink, kizz, leannabartram, lissa, mnewsum, peril, theodulf, theseeker, timotten, tonylee, wkallander, (+ at least two more from the 2001 DC meet-up whose names escape me at the moment). I've also spoken with newwave and ettore on the phone.
I reside in the Pacific NorthWet. (What's rain??)
