Back in the 60's I didn't know I was going to be a photographer. I didn't even know I was going to be Kat Caverly! I thought I was going to be a doctor when I got a degree in behavioral psychology in 1976.

After a thorough commercial photography apprenticeship in Chicago and Atlanta, I immigrated to New York where I ended up on the streets. I have spent the last 25 years developing a skill for photographing everyday people in ordinary settings using available light.

I created my first photocartoon, It Takes All Kinds, and started working with Recycled Paper Greetings in 1988. I created characters and started performing in comedy clubs in 1995. The New York Times called me the "Face that launched 1000 greeting cards."

I started my own virtual card company in 2001, The Photocartoonist. I would like people to see themselves and other people as funny.

People are funny!

Update: I launched my own greeting card company, Greetums, in 2009 after having created over 1000 original animated designs which include our team's original music, characters, and scripts.
