Submit a Site to the Kids and Teens Open Directory

Thank you for your interest in the Open Directory Project. Submitting a site is easy, but before you
proceed with the site submission form, we ask that you do two things.

  1. Please take a moment to review some of our submission policies and instructions. It is important that you understand these policies.  Failure to understand and follow these policies generally will result in the rejection of a submission.
  2. Please check to be sure that this is the single category you think your site should be listed in. The Open Directory has a rich subject tree, and it helps everyone if you search around for the best category. This also helps expedite our review of your site.
EXAMPLE:

A site on chemistry experiments for kids should be submitted to:

Top: Kids and Teens: School Time: Science: Chemistry
not
Top: Kids and Teens: School Time: Science

This is an important distinction in the world of web categorization, and it insures speedy processing of your site.

Please note: We are not a search engine and pride ourselves on being highly selective. We don't
accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted.

Kids and Teens: Entertainment: Movies
Please check the subcategories under Titles and submit your site there if appropriate. If your site concerns an animated movie, it belongs here instead.

The content of any website submitted to Kids and Teens must be suitable and of interest to young people under the age of 18.

We do not list the following types of websites in Kids and Teens:

  • Sites which provide adult oriented content.
  • Commercial websites (e.g. online stores).
  • Websites made up of affiliate links.
  • Websites aimed at parents about children.
  • Websites that are under construction, or that provide little content.

No website is guaranteed to be listed in Kids and Teens.

Submission Agreement

We care a great deal about the quality of the directory. Please be aware that abusive submissions will result in the removal of all sites connected with the abuser.
  • Please only submit an URL to the Open Directory once. If a site has not been listed within three weeks, you may submit it again.
  • Disguising your submission and submitting the same URL more than once is not permitted.

  • Example: http://dmoz.org and http://dmoz.org/index.html.
  • Do not submit mirror sites. Mirror sites are sites that contain identical content, but have different URLs altogether.
  • Avoid submitting sites with addresses that redirect to another address.

  • Wait until your site is complete before submitting your URL. Sites which are incomplete, contain "Under Construction" notices, or contain broken graphics or links aren't good candidates for the directory.
